With Adelaide midfielder Bryce Gibbs set to miss today’s match against St Kilda with a nasty bout of gastro, suspicion has fallen on club nutritionist Nonna Gallucci.
Nonna, who’s grandson Jordan is expected to play in Gibbs’ absence, has previously made it very clear that she is willing to do whatever it takes to see her son play, including placing horse’s head in the bed of coach Donato Pyke.
It is understood that Nonna stopped by the Gibbs’ family home while Bryce was training, and left a bottle of homemade sauce, some devilled eggs and three schnitzels with his wife Lauren, before telling her that the food would “help the team more than you know.”
With Gibbs a late withdrawal, fellow emergency Chayce Jones has been warned to not consume any food that isn’t in sealed packaging.
More to come.
