Adelaide Crows high flying forward Mitch McGovern has rung his manager to seek clarification over the definition of ‘contract.’
The young star, who is currently undergoing rehab on an injured ankle, is rumoured to want out of West Lakes over a dispute over a pay deal which he himself agreed to just 10 months ago.
It is reported that McGovern’s management did not explain that a contract is binding and that, with two and a half years left on his current deal, he is unlikely to play anywhere except Adelaide in the medium term.
McGovern is the latest in a string of Crows players who have indicated they want to leave the club, with the fellow forward Tom Lynch seeking more money in Victoria, and Josh Jenkins seeking an NBA analyst and commentators role in the United States.
More to come.
