An Adelaide local is busy telling anyone who will listen that he always backed in Josh Jenkins to perform in big games.
Hamish Martin was overjoyed at the Crows win over reigning premiers Richmond, which was led by Jenkins’ five goals.
“I always backed JJ. Those social media posts from me calling him a weak dog were just my way of telling him that we needed him to play his best.”
“I’ve always said that he’s actually the perfect hybrid forward. He can push up the ground and beat his opponent running back. It doesn’t matter if he’s not taking pack grabs, goals are goals.”
When asked if he had ever questioned Jenkins’ spot in the team, Martin was adamant.
“No way. The bloke is a gun. Don’t you know he had a basketball background?”
“David Mackay has a lot of talent too. The guy will break a game open one day.”
