The Adelaide Football Club theme song has today taken out the inaugural Triple M ‘Ozzest 100’ ahead of Cold Chisel’s ‘Khe Sahn’ and Savage Garden’s ‘To the Moon and Back.’
The Journal can reveal that the majority of the votes for the song came from the many children of former Adelaide Captain Mark Riccuito.
“It’s the only song they’ve ever heard”, Riccuito told the Journal. “I got them to vote online and also muscled Ditts until he agreed to vote. I never thought we would win though!”
It is also understood that the song received a significant number of indigenous votes, after aboriginal rights activist and rapper Briggs revealed that his favourite AFL player was Andrew McLeod.
“I hated the idea of the countdown when it was first announced, but as soon as I realised I could vote for Bunji, my morals gave way to my desire for musical perfection.’
Surprisingly, popular INXS song ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ received no votes in the countdown.
